About Us

A "stone of help" for first responders in Kosciusko County.

Project Ebenezer is a non-profit dedicated to supporting the mental health and wellness of First Responders. First responders face traumatic events regularly, and we connect them with resources to help turn post-traumatic stress into post-traumatic growth. Every dollar raised goes directly toward supporting first responders.

Our Story

Project Ebenezer was founded after our founder, Paige, experienced a critical on-duty incident in 2020 while training as a new officer.

While responding to a call, Paige was attacked, struck in the head with a gun, and used as a shield in a standoff with police. After the incident, she struggled with post-traumatic stress but stayed silent—too afraid to seek help due to the stigma in the first responder community.

When she finally came forward, she found very few resources available in Indiana. She received financial assistance from a non-profit in Texas, but it was difficult to find professionals who truly understood first responders. This sparked a question: "Why can’t we have something like this in Indiana?"

After researching similar organizations across the U.S., Project Ebenezer was founded—an initiative dedicated to breaking the stigma, providing access to mental health resources, and ensuring that no first responder has to struggle alone.

Why Project Ebenezer?

The name Project Ebenezer comes from 1 Samuel 7:12: "Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, ‘Thus far the Lord has helped us.’"

Ebenezer means “stone of help,” and that’s exactly what we strive to be—a source of strength and support for first responders in their mental health journey.
